Ducks take it to the Canes

The Ducks take it to the Canes!

First of all, I can only comment from the info that I got off of the online radio I had tuned in during the game. I can tell you the fact that we scored a lot more this game has me smiling over this 4-1 victory. I will take anyday the higher scoring games at this point from where the Ducks have come offensively. They say 3 goal games make you a winner, anything under that will eventually hurt your standings.

Can I just say how money Ryan is on that line with Getz and Perry? This is for sure the best thing sinse Southerby went out with a pulled groin. Hopefully we can get Huskins injured too! That's messed up but, hey - at least I'm being honest.

In the latest edition of the Hockey News they did a cute little story of Burke titled, "Pro's and Con's " The Cons were I thinking particularily unfair. If you don't have the mag - I can tell you the highlights.

They pined Burke as being a"difficult to work with" individual and "unable to stay in one area for too long" like he's got A.D.D. They also pulled the sweater over my eyes in regards to him saying that he didn't leave the hockey club in good shape when he left in direct opposition to his comments to the media in the last press coference he held at the announcement of leaving the club.

Hockey News aserts that the house was not in order when he left. With salary cap issues and a handful high priced players on the dawn of retirement, management has there work cut out for them particularily the scouting department.

Stop the Penalties

The ducks have yet to gain some type of consistency regarding dominence on many of there recent games due to the penalties they have been taken? Everytime we seem to score, get this or that scoring chance we ruin any momentum by a penalty. But who are the culprits?

Again, as stated in my first post, the reason why I started this was to publish a true fan perspective. And this fan perspective relies on sometimes intuition and even maybe team energy which cannot be truely measured by player and team stats.

Unfortunately, for the ducks the problem relies in the solution. The best defensive and offensive players are causing us grief. These two players, Pronger and Perry seem to take the worst penalties at the worst times. Just watch the last few lost Ducks games and you will see what I mean. Or look at the PIM player by player.

Listen I know that these players benefits are numberous for Perry, he works as a great agitator, goal scorer and pays the price in the crease. For Pronger, his long reach and large frame cuts off the puck penetration in the corners and he can dish it out to anybody. He is like a large reliable oak in forest, and belive me - he's got the limbs to prove it.

But come on! Burke lay into these guys! They can't have it both ways. Burke has to be scratching his head on what else he can do to make these guys see that they can't be taking these bad infractions.

Unforuntely I don't think they are listening. After our embarassing loss to the Caps of which we should have had no problem winning, Burke said he had been communicating just that. Only nobodies listening. Ooops! Does this mean that there might be a lack of respect? If you don't have players that are listening you might have an old school Phil Jackson/Kobe/Shac issue. Over that!

Anyhow, hopefully we can pull it together and get to the top of the standings in the West. We need to definetly prepare for the heavy hitters. For example, Sharks, Red Wings, and Rangers.

Go Ducks!!!!

Ducks need another Win!

Hello Everyone!!! This is my first entry on any blog and I wanted to first of all thank you for visisting the page. The purpose for writing is one to inform others on Ducks news, create a fan based point of view on team changes, and of course to communicate with you all who might want a voice regarding certain Hockey related news.

Just a little by me. My name is Scott and I am from Newport Beach CA. I have not always been a Ducks fan. As a child I remember going to Kings games in LA. However, those were the days! What I mean by that? Well, one word Gretzky.

With the creation of the Mighty Ducks in Anaheim CA and being so close to home we found ourselves going to Ducks games more often. Thus, my father and I were converted. Although, the "Mighty" in Mighty Ducks seemed a far cry from the Kings it being like such a cartoon of a hockey team because of Disney we still some how looking back knew there was a brighter but less "colorful" hockey club in the future.

And so it was with the recent Stanley Cup Champions, improved management, and all star player roster the Ducks have broken free from Mighty and turned Mightier. There are still those Kings fans though that seem to yell "Amillo" at the end of a Kings win at the Ducks games but fortunately those wins won't come for a while.
